Turn around and look at me, it's really really you
More about that 'ideal face' thing I was talking about a couple of days ago. Do you think people are drawn to icons (such as actors) who resemble their own ideal face? I am often struck that when people admire an actor (singer, athlete or whatever) of the same sex as themselves, s/he embodies their own most attractive features.
I suppose the ideal face could be an icon of the opposite sex, but I don't seem to notice that match-up so often, regardless of sexual orientation it seems to be a same-sex idealisation. But please correct me if this is nothing like your experience.
(note - managed to get a Chili lyric in as my subject line)
