|09:17 pm - Good news|
I should say, about my last post, that I wasn't particularly unfairly treated myself. My whole organisation was abolished. In fact I was lucky to be offered a new job, only a handful of us were, but I decided not to take it. I was more intending to illustrate the false economy of getting rid of specialists.
Anyway, on a much more positive note, the charity that happytune and I are directors of got a big award from the National Lottery. It's such welcome news. This literally means that the charity can continue to exist, helping to improve the life chances of sex workers in our city. It's a reprieve, which we hardly dared hope for.
I cycled round Rutland water today, and it was good. Both today, and yesterday at another lake, I saw a stoat really close up. Yesterday I leaned over a wall and one was peeping up at me like this. I really admire the weasel family, because they are little hard cases. It says on that page that they can't resist peeking at you, because they are so inquisitive. I think they just want to have a go.

Well, that is good news! \o/
It really is. We were thinking we might have to close down, and this will fund us for I think three years.

Starting the morning with the sentence I really admire the weasel family has already made my day, and it's not even 7am.
did you click the link to see the guy fighting weasels
That's excellent news about the funding! Lots of lottery grants have been swallowed up by the Olympics, so I'm really glad yours got something.
I know, what a relief, I didn't dare to hope we'd get it in the current climate
That's excellent news about the charity!

Why should you never trust them with a secret?
Because they must tell or die.
Ooh, my friends sometimes do a Rutland water ride. I'll give you a wave if I ever end up going.
Yes, please do, I'd like to go again
