|10:22 am - Brokeback Barlow|
Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow's new 'Brokeback' video on getting back together after all these years. 'How do you think I felt when I saw your poster 30 foot high behind Toys R Us?' I always felt that was the best thing about Take That - not fake sincerity, but sincere and bare faced cheek.
It's a shame Lennon and McCartney never quite got this far.
It's clever and funny. I like the way they almost did the cliff plunge from 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid'.
Oh good, I thought I might be the only one
It makes me think of the bathing scene
(from approx 1:10 - 5:30 in that clip, contains full frontal male nudity so probably NSFW) from Room With A View
, set in a clearly more uninhibited age when it comes to homosocial behaviour, or perhaps just one with an unhealthy obsession with male bonding.Edited at 2010-08-26 11:10 am (UTC)
Haha I won't look at it now as I am sitting in an office where anyone can see my screen, but it comes vividly to the mind's eye
What a lovely song, and a beautifully put together video.
The glances, the little touches, just lovely.
The song is unlikely to be a big stadium anthem covered by Metallica, but it's catchy and the lyrics are lovely.
Yes, it's cute isn't it, I like the way they are not shying away from the embarrassment between them.
