|11:18 am - Crossing the border|
Tomorrow I am going to Snowdonia for a week with my daughter. We've both been through a fairly stressful time, and I managed to bag a last minute get-away near Dalgellau, about half a mile from the sea. H is just joining us for the weekend, but he can't get away from his job for the rest of the week.
I won't take my computer with me. That means I won't be able to blog the first week of the World Cup (though we will have a telly so I'll watch it), and it also means I'll have to wait a week to see the season finale of Breaking Bad. OMG. But I think I need a real break from everything. I will take a few books - probably Spirit by Gwynneth Jones, I'm not sure what else*. If it rains I'm walking in the damn rain.
*If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.
Hope you have a lovely, restful, reinvigorating time.
Thank you, I need to clear my head
That sounds like a good break for both of you, and I hope you will have a happy time.
Thanks I've never been on hols just the two of us so it will be really good mother-daughter time
Oh my goodness! I live half-an-hour from Dolgellau!
Really? Let's meet up. I'll send you my mobile number. Not sure what the reception is like in that area.
I'm glad that you're able to get away - and I hope that the isolation away from the computer will allow you a restful and restorative time with both H and your daughter.
Also, I hope you enjoy the football!
Thanks glitterboy. I think it will be a good break, but I am not expecting much from our current team. Our top goalie is Calamity James, and our best chance of scoring is the ball bouncing off Peter Crouch. Ah well.

Ironically I will avoiding football as it's our performance of "Calamity Jane" this week.
Have a wonderful break.
Our top goalie is Calamity James
These words echoed in my mind when I heard about the first match. How right you were.
