BBC report today on TVs most bizarre endings is a response to the endings this week of Lost and Ashes to Ashes.
The BBC choose just three exemplary endings, and what can they be: why our old friends -The Prisoner, St Elsewhere and Blakes 7. The BBC comment
In a nutshell: Bloodbath. As Avon used to say 'Well, hooray for us'
Oh, I was just about to post about this too, LOL! I don't know about you but I always feel a rush of pride when our mad old show pops up in the mainstream.
Everything dies - what other lesson could you want a generation to take into adulthood with them?
Nowdays we've got Radiohead for that

Ah yes... happy memories.... Has Christmas ever been quite so defiinitively scuppered since Terry Collier told Bob Ferris that Santa had been gored to death by his reindeer?
Oh THAT'S where my older brother got it from!
That article made me look up Blake's 7 on DVD. You can't buy the whole series, only the individual seasons at £17.99 which seems a bit much for a programme that is over thirty years old.
I'm sure you can get it way cheaper than that. However, it's like Marmite, but with wobbly scenery and acting.
You couldn't get it AT ALL until we'd spent about a quarter of a century hitting them over the heads with our demands... OK, I admit they didn't have DVD technology at the start of that. But it was a very long time before we could get more than edited highlights even on video.
Anyway, it's £14.89 a season at sendit.com, and I dare say you can get cheaper if you shop around... does the fact that it's still that much indicate it's generating decent enough sales not to slash it further, or just that there isn't enough stock left for it to matter?
And you still can't get it in Region 1. Sigh.

It's virtually impossible to get any lengthly UK TV programme on DVD at a reasonable price. And even harder to get many with subtitles. Most annoying.

Sad, isn't it, that today's kids wouldn't understand what all the fuss was about when it happened. Nowadays you can't move for major characters being wiped out in most programmes.

Oh - your icon - isn't that where Vila is saying to Avon: "You think you've found Blake." ?
Now that's a true fan - yes, you are right it is
Wouldn't that be a good quiz - what is the person saying in this image

Oh, that makes my little fannish heart happy. :-)
I've got to assume that these people did not watch Life on American Mars.
The 30 days of TV meme I'm doing at the minute has a question on best series finale coming up... I'll give just three guesses (and the first two don't count) what I'm gonna choose :)
