Poetry for Cancer Research UK

Fatima did a fantastic job of organising the poetry event last night. The Arabic poets I was hoping to see were not able to attend - not sure why not - but we had a very good Malawian poet called Chikosa Silungwe and an unaccompanied singer from Tanzania called Helen Kijo. Also several of my friends read their works. Fred did an excellent extended monologue in the persona of Nora Joyce - James Joyce's long suffering wife - in Trieste.

I did three poems I've read many times before: Lorem Ipsum, Jurassic Coast and Lunt Fort. I do learn from reading. I hope it doesn't make me too cautious about experimenting.

At the moment I have set up this journal so that only friends can comment. I hate doing this, but I was just getting too much Russian spam.
