|09:11 am - Medical emergency - all should be OK|
I've just had a phone call from my ex, my son's appendix has popped like mine did 5 years ago. They are in a village near Melton Mowbray. My son has a temperature and is vomiting, and in pain.
My ex is just setting off to drive my son back to Coventry - it's almost the nearest A&E anyway. It should take about an hour. I hope I did right to say get him back here if you can. If things get much worse in the hour then he'll have to find another emergency room, probably Leicester. But I think an hour is OK.
Just letting everyone know. May not be online now for a while.

Oh no! I hope everything turns out all right.
Thank you for letting us know. My thoughts are with you and your son - and your ex, as he drives. I'm hoping for the best.
Oh, dear. I hope all will turn out all right.

:-( Hope everything turns out OK.
Oh no. I haven't got my phone with me, but SC's number is 0 7 9 7 7 5 0 7 7 9 4 if you need anything at all. We're not going away until tomorrow so please please call if you need anything. Hug.
Hope everything is okay, best wishes, Joanna x

Good luck to him. I have recently had a lot of contact with the NHS because an elderly relative took sick and died, and I must say the care he was given could not have been better. I was very thankful that the one question the thorough and kindly doctor who admitted him did not ask was "how are you going to pay?"

Sending heaps of good wishes and thoughts... hope it's over quickly and he gets better soon.
Oh, that's awful - I think you did the right thing, having him near home is the best idea. I hope he has a speedy recovery, thinking of you.
Oh dear, how alarming! I hope all goes well, and your ex can get him there quickly. And that he recovers in time to be home for Christmas - I've forgotten how long these things take though I know it's very painful.
Hope things go well.
For what it's worth, my mother was carted off to A&E at the beginning of the month with the same thing, and was home again within a couple of days. On her own insistence and packed to the gunwales with antibiotics, admittedly, but there's at least a chance Son won't be obliged to spend Christmas Day in hospital.
I'm awfully sorry! But at least you know that it's "that horrible thing that I had and got better from," so you know first-hand that he'll be on the mend soon.

good lord, how awful. Fingrs crossed and all that. For what it's worth, I think you did the right thing in having him near his home, these things are always easier when family is closer.
It should take about an hour. I hope I did right to say get him back here if you can. If things get much worse in the hour then he'll have to find another emergency room, probably Leicester. But I think an hour is OK. "About an hour"? Parenting-advice books never told us how hard such decisions would be or how to endure such hours!
Fingers crossed for you - I hope it's all ok.
Hope all goes as well as can be.
Oh god, how nasty - fingers crossed for a quick and easy surgery and recovery.

Oh, I'm so sorry! All my thoughts are with you.
Oh, goodness. Best of luck to all of you.
I hope all is well. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Just seen this, and your update - I hope he's fine. Will be thinking of you all.
I saw your other post, and I'm crossing my fingers for you both that all goes well with the operation whenever exactly it does happen, and that he is out in time for Christmas with no extra pain.
