The Forsaken Place

The Forsaken Place (Im Verlassenen). An article by Nobel prize winner Elfriede Jelinek (she wrote 'The Piano Teacher') about the crimes of Joseph Fritzl.

It is hard to read, both in subject and form (she doesn't use line breaks).

Also Up from the cellar an article from LRB about Jelinek and Fritzl. He argues that she has never been well translated into English, which is why nobody gets her work. I don't know how well this essay is translated.
