I went to see I am Legend at the cinema. The premise is like a slightly watered down and Americanised 28 weeks later. By Americanised I mean religious references added throughout and a massively implausible upbeat ending. However the zombie concept is so scary that I was terrified. My heart was thumping in my chest for almost the whole two hours. Like Tom Hanks in Castaway, Will Smith carries the film; he is the only human being in most of the scenes. Like Hanks he's a bit too mainstream to be a big favourite of mine, but he does a bloody good job of this, and it's difficult to think of anyone else in the same role.
BTW It's been interesting to see the lists that people have kept through the year of books read and films seen. When people do this, do they record films they see on TV as well as at the cinema?
