don't talk to me about 'life'

Astrobiology magazine seems a great site. It has articles about the search for extra-terrestrial life, and the evolution of life on earth. The articles are fairly brief but with links for more detailed follow-ups.

I think I prefer the articles on evolution on earth because they are imaginative but rooted in some suggestive and stimulating evidence. On the other hand the debates on the possibility of life beyond the Earth tend to be a lot of wind-bags speculating from insufficnet evidence.

Meanwhile here are some articles on deep-time and terrestrial evolution. And here is an interview with Carol Clelland from the University of Colorado on
formulating a strategy for searching for extraterrestrial life that allows one to push the boundaries of our Earth-centric concepts of life

Yay for aliens.

At the moment I have set up this journal so that only friends can comment. I hate doing this, but I was just getting too much Russian spam.
