y'allternative

H has got a plan to sing 100 different songs live by Christmas. He's at 28 now. Last week he performed three new Steve Earle songs (new to his repertoire I mean) including 'I ain't never satisfied' which went down really well, he got everyone singing the chorus. There was an Ethiopian man in the audience who didn't seem to speak much English, but he really enjoyed it, he came up to H and was shaking his hand saying 'Good Song. Good Song.'

H is also doing stuff by SonVolt and Eddie Spaghetti at the moment.

Heh I was just reading the wikipedia entry on alt-country music, which says it is also sometimes called y'allternative.
