tehomet points out that there's a film of Beowulf coming up, scripted by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avery (who co-wrote Pulp Fiction). That sounds very promising, and I think the casting is awesome. Beowulf is a tough man, but he's not young, he's old and tired, and he's not refined. Who better to play him than Ray Winstone? Brilliant choice, which bodes well for the whole enterprise. Ostentatious casting: Grendel's mother is played by Angelina Jolie - well, she's mad enough. King Hrothgar is Anthony Hopkins and Unferth is John Malkovich.

The director is Robert Zemeckis. Case for the defence: Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Back to the Future. Case for the prosecution: Gothika, Ghost Ship, Forest Gump. Let us hope.
