Battlestar Galactica

Last night I watched the first two episodes of the new(ish) Battlestar Galactica, which has now come to the cheapskates channel aka Sky Three freeview (I think it's a loss-leader for the the priced Sky output). Anyway, that meant I missed last night's World Cup matches. It sounds like they were a hoot. I walked in to see the last few minutes of the Croatia/Australia match, and it looked like a bloody shambles. The English referee had completely lost control of the match.

I liked the premise of BG. I thought it looked promising with emotional potential. I didn't find any of the characters that compelling yet. Those who have been following BG, what do you think? Worth finding time to watch it each week? At the moment I feel that I'd watch it if I had nothing better to do, but I wouldn't be too bothered if I missed it.

ETA - thanks for all those persepctives, I was reading and replying while carrying on a phone-disagreement with our HR department, so if I was terse that was the reason why. it seems like a show that has divided opinion a bit
