Sion Jenkins

srk1 asks whether we think Sion Jenkins is guilty (sorry, this is a British news thing). My feeling is that he was a nasty, controlling, violent husband and father, and the jury should have heard all relevant information. However I think he was probably innocent of this murder. There must be literally hundreds of thousands of men in this country who beat their wives and children, and by the law of averages the children of some of these men will be murdered by someone else.

My reason for thinking he is innocent of this murder is another news item, which I can't find a link to now, but which came up at the time of the original trial. A vagrant in the area was known to have an obsession with putting plastic into noses. It's an unusual fetish. I certainly remember reading reports that the dead girl was found with plastic bin bag fragments in her nostrils. It's a strange little detail, which I thought was very telling. I haven't heard anything more about this though.
