Film editing and genre

Do you remember a few weeks ago I posted a link to a trailer re-edited from 'The Shining' to make it look like a family picture? Here are spoof trailers for West Side Story and Titanic re-edited to look like horror movies and Big re-edited to look like a dark drama.

These are all real clips from the films, but editing changes genre. Most people couldn't describe the editing conventions of different film genres, and yet we recognise them.
