Listen! you hear the grating roar
Of pebbles which the waves draw back, and fling,
At their return, up the high strand,
Begin, and cease, and then again begin
...down the vast edges drear
And naked shingles of the world.
I slathered myself in suncream, but forgot my toes (doh) which by the end of the day resembled ten little red chipolotas stuck to the end of my feet. When H saw them he soaked a T shirt in water and wrapped it round my poor feet. They feel better now though.
When I first got to my brother's house almost the first thing I said was 'Can we watch doctor who tonight?' He seemed amazed at the question, and I soon found out why. Background - my bro has been living in cramped accommodation for about a decade. This is the first time I've visited him where he has enough space to unpack and spread out.
His living room is a shrine to doctor who. It looks a lot like the living rooms of at least two lj friends whom I have visited recently (you know who you are). Every single episode ever broadcast, videoed, soundrecorded, or reconstructed. Every audio episode. Even a remote controlled dalek. No wonder he looked amazed when I asked if he minded watching doctor who.
