Hamlet b/w

The paragon of animals

Fans of David Tennant and Hamlet (and Patrick Stewart) will enjoy Nicky's Hamlet Music Video, mainly based on Tennant's Hamlet but with inserts from others. This is just the sort of thing I love. There is something so divine about the beauty of human movement: 'in form and moving how express and admirable, in action how like an angel'

ETA hano posts the 'paragon of animals' speech as delivered in Withnail and I.

Ashes to Ashes

Someone on my f-list was discussing the theory that Gene Hunt and Jim Keats are psychopomps - entities who have the job of escorting souls through death. And that they barely knew what they are, or remember and forget, but know that they are both of a kind. I have stupidly forgotten which friend it was. In any case, I think this idea is quite well entrenched in the third seasons of Ashes to Ashes, and in this week's episode Keats played the role unambiguouslyCollapse )

Speaking of things never made explicit, did you see the graffiti Alex was looking at on the underpass:

I'm such an idiot fangirl because that gave me a massive tingly thrill.

And just as I was about to hit 'post' I see rozk has just posted a similar chain of thought about Hunt and Keats, though she argues that Keats is Lucifer, and you could make a case for that. And Lucifer is an ambiguous figure.
