breaking bad

'24' hits new low

I watched a random episode of 24 last night. Which season is it now? When 24 was launched in 2001 I thought it was a brilliant concept, and when I saw it I was hooked. I loved seasons 1 and 2. But what has happened to it lately?

This episode was a bloody disgrace, and Keifer Sutherland should be ashamed of being involved in it. Not only did they literally dramatise that stupid 'what if a nuclear bomb was going to go off, wouldn't you torture a suspect' scenario, they made all the anti-torture advocates weak and corrupt, and all the torturers good looking and determined. It was literally like propaganda.

And then the slimy evil lawyer arrived from 'Amnesty Global' and tried to undermine the national security of the United States. 'But by preventing me from torturing the suspect you are risking millions of lives!' weeps our manly hero. The shaven-headed swarthy lawyer sneers his indifference.

The amount of good Amnesty International have done in the world - to be portrayed as evil sidekicks to terrorism by some bloody TV show. It makes me very angry.
