breaking bad

Cut up the concubine

When I read the Bible a couple of years ago I was struck by how some stories are repeated several times, with different protagonists. Obviously they were the equivalent of our modern 'Urban Legends': stories that appealed to the popular imagination, and were recounted 'about' various cultural heroes.

Do talk to me about life

Despite that angry post I have had a nice Easter break. I am at work today, and then I'm taking the rest of the week off. Yesterday I went cycling in the Peak District with my son. Got covered in mud, cycled 30 miles, had a great time.

H won 150 quid on the Grand National, and took the kids to Alton Towers. I managed to avoid this purgatory.

H will be fifty in a few days. Fifty! We've known each other almost twenty years. I am taking him to Poole this weekend. I know it doesn't sound very exciting, but it's what he likes. He loves Dorset. We'll go walking along the coast, eat seafood, etc. My sister is looking after the kids.

My brothers, one of whom is less than a year younger than me, are both to become fathers again this year. Makes me nostalgic for when I had young children. Kinda.
