I know several of my online friends are participating in NaNoWriMo, in which you attempt to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November.

I wonder if there is anyone reading this who thinks that amateur writers undermine professionals, or that poor writers undermine the good? Is it true in the fanfic world? Poor fiction certainly clogs up the forums. However, my approach is the more people participate, the more fun for everyone, but then that's probably why I was thrown out of the Scouts.
