If you want to know more about what's going on in the Ukraine, keep an eye on the ongoing string of excellent and well researched posts on Fistful of Euros by Nick alias getawaywithit. I wonder if the whole situation is going to explode? The offical announcement of the election result is in 20 minutes (2pm GMT).

For those who haven't been following - the candidate endorsed by the Russian gov't has declared himself the victor, despite widespread allegations of electoral malpractice.

New EU Commission chief Jose Manuel Barroso called for restraint in Ukraine and said there would be consequences for EU relations with Kiev “if there is not a serious, objective review of the election results”.
