08:45 am - Late arrival at the undertakers' ball Like so many on my f-list I am sad to hear of the death of Humphrey Lyttelton, probably the performer I most wished to have the chance to see live, as quizmaster of I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. I've been longing to see that for years. It just won't be the same without him.
Anyway, Samantha has just been on the phone, saying she wasn't able to grasp his end, and she had expected him to keep it up indefinitely. As a tribute she and the teams will be taking his ashes to BBC Television Centre, and while Graeme Garden and Tim Brooke Taylor stand proudly to attention, she'll toss them into the Blue Peter Garden.
It's what he would have wanted. Current Mood: sad

Nice.
A worthy tribute *smiles, but sadly*
Thanks for that. It is indeed what he would have wanted.

Perhaps one should play Mournington Cresent?
Sorry to hear about his demise, but three cheers for showing that his spirit lives on. You inspired me to post about it too. |
