Yesterday the UN Security Council issued a statement on the situation in Darfur, and urged the government of Sudan to intervene to restrain the militia, and allow humanitairan aid into the region.

I don't know whether communications technology has the capacity to distribute information and to mobilise public opinion sufficiently to make a difference. I am interested to see people making the attempt.
